Hello Families,
As the global health community and the world come together to face COVID -19, I wanted to reach out and let each of our families know how Jeans & Jewels Institute is responding in these challenging times. Every decision we make is being guided by our long-standing commitment to inspire, educate, and empower youth to reach their greatest potential.
Here is how we are responding:
YOUTH
We want to protect the health and well-being of our youth and their families, so we will follow the social distancing order to keep them safe. We will not be holding any in-person workshops until further notice. However, we are actively working on ways to support our families and provide virtual life skill workshops to our youth.
IMPACT
We are committed to thinking long term about our mission - provide leadership development for youth by exposing them to life skills, image building, healthy habits, and career preparation. With school closures and the "Stay at Home" Ordinance, we will post tips and resources to enhance their skills through our blog, www.jjinstitute.org/blog .
BEING A GREAT PARTNER
There is no doubt, we are all in this together. We are working closely with all of our partners to navigate how we can best serve our youth and their families. We are actively engaging with and learning from our partners, so we can share resources, information, approaches, and important moral support. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions on where to find specific resources and information.
As we move forward in these uncertain times, we want to remind you of the good that remains. We want to remind you that Jeans & Jewels Institute will continue to be a source of leadership development for youth.
We are in this together!
With Love,
Thomasina J. Burns
